It dumped on us on my birthday!!! We went out snowmobiling with Candi and Larry and, though it’d started snowing a little earlier, the further we got from the cabins the more is came down; larger and larger flakes. We took off into a wind-sheltered area and just chilled out for a few minutes. The contrast between the gray sky, the evergreens and the falling snowflakes was absolutely wonderful. I just took off my goggles and looked up to feel them settle onto my face :)
That was the most sublime moment of the week.
Our condo was great! Slope-side Keystone with a light switch fireplace and a perfect view. The hot tubs were hot and so was the fridge. Yeah slight snafu, but it got fixed Wednesday. In the meantime the food kept just fine on the patio!
Candi hung with us on Monday, all night since we found out there’s no night riding Mondays and Tuesdays :/ Real smart V, not checking. Of course we made friends with the bartenders and managers of Kickapoos instantly. Nice when 3 hours of food and drinks total $35 for three peeps; so that was our hangout for the next few days :)
Candi left Wednesday AM to get her test done by noon. Sadly, she wasn’t able to ride with us as her knee felt like it was twisting in its socket. Happily, we were able to get her drunk enough to puke Wed morning ;) It was her fault really, what with all those Bloody Mary shots.
Wednesday we went it solo. Thursday Jarrett and Randi came to play. Randi took off on her own while the three of us went outback to shred some black and blues. Had a blast, drank a bunch, hit the tubs, and Jarrett passed out from the heat. Sooooo we left him there and went to our regular haunt (Kickapoos, of course).
Come Friday AM he was puking ;)
Candi picked us up about 10 minutes after they left and we headed to the Grand Mesa for a weekend of man cabin and snowmobiling fun.
